When four young men dared to ask God for a pastor and a church in Warangal, India, despite being the only believers in their village, God responded…
a church is planted
Six months later, Peter (ILI International Director for South Asia), my wife, Joy, and I arrived for the dedication of the first church in this remote Hindu village. A crowd of children rushed to greet us. Women and men followed as we made our way to the open-air tent, where chairs and rugs waited under a tree. We sat as the crowd settled in close.
The children watched the ceremony with wide eyes, staring at the first Americans in their village. Our names were called, and garlands of sweet smelling flowers were placed around our necks. I looked at the child directly in front of me and heard God speak in my mind, "It took me 2000 years, but now I have a church in this village."
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
- 1 John 5:14
Those four young men dared to ask God for a pastor and a church building, and God answered their prayer.
